Crazy socks seem to be a trend that is going to stick around. However, whilst many people buy them as gifts it can often be a dilemma of when to wear them. Some people may see them as a little extreme for certain occasions but it depends a little bit on the pattern, but mostly how you wear them and your attitude.
Crazy socks are a great addition to any outfit and below is a list of outfits that you can wear yours with and how to make sure that they don’t become too much of a stand out.
Work
This is probably one of the most common uses for crazy socks. Men will wear these to work as a way of adding a little bit of colour and vibrancy to an otherwise bland outfit. Suits can become a little boring and finding ways to spice them up is fine and also shows a little bit of style as opposed to just wearing a suit.
The crazy socks can be seen only when sitting down but it is often cool to have a matching tie and/or pocket handkerchief to complete the outfit. This adds something interesting to the standard suit and can make you feel more positive about yourself and stand out from the crowd a little.
Parties
Crazy socks can be a great way to add a little something to your party outfit. Whilst some parties may be more formal, you can still have a little bit of fun and match them with your tie or even your shirt. There is a little more licence at parties than at work to be a bit more out there with your dress choice. As mentioned, even if it is a formal party it is ok to have a little bit of fun with your crazy socks and other accessories.
Summer
When it comes to summer we are regularly wearing shorts and skirts but that doesn’t mean that crazy socks cannot be worn. However, there are a few considerations that need to be taken into account before rocking them every day.
As they are able to be seen all the time you need to ensure that the crazier the pattern, the more simply the rest of your outfit is – especially your shoes. Shoes are probably the biggest point but you don’t want to have clashing colours with your crazy socks. This is why it is advised to go with a simple white, black or brown shoe when wearing them in summer so that they can be on show without running your outfit.
Winter
As above, a similar theme goes but they may also be covered at times. Of course, in winter you are far more likely to be wearing pants on a regular basis and this means that the crazy socks won’t be visible. If they aren’t visible when you are simply standing and walking then there is little consideration to be made.
However, it is very cool to roll your pants up a little so that the crazy socks can be easily seen. If you are looking to do this then your shoes, once again, become important, you want to make sure that your shoes are of a simple and plain colour so that they do not take away from the vibrant colours and designs that are seen at your ankles.
You can wear your crazy socks almost whenever you want. But, it is important that you consider the rest of your outfit and your shoes when deciding which design and colours you are going to opt for on a given day so that you don’t have any undesirable clashes.
